Yes, and most people do. The packages are a starting point, not a menu you are locked into. Take the Premium price and add a freestanding bath, or take Deluxe and upgrade only the tapware to matte black — we re-price it on the spot rather than telling you it isn't in the package. The point of the tiers is to give you a realistic number fast, not to restrict what you can have.

Four things, and we tell you about all of them before you sign. Relocating plumbing points to a different wall. Structural repairs to framing or substrate we find once the old bathroom is out. Asbestos removal, which must be done by a licensed removalist and is common in Sydney bathrooms built before 1990. And selections that exceed the package supply allowance — a $180/m² imported tile against a $45/m² allowance, for example. Every one of these appears as a separate line in your written quote.

On eligible projects, yes. Home Building Compensation Fund cover is required by law in NSW on residential building work over $20,000 and is included in the package price where it applies. It protects you if the builder cannot complete or rectify the work. You also get the NSW statutory warranty on top: six years on major defects, two on everything else.

We have a best price guarantee. If you are holding a written quote from another licensed, insured renovator for genuinely the same scope, send it to us and we will do our best to match or beat it. The important word is 'same scope' — most of the gap between quotes turns out to be exclusions rather than price, and we will map both quotes line by line so you can see where.

A deposit to secure your start date, then progress payments tied to completed stages of work as set out in your contract — not to a calendar. NSW law caps the deposit on residential building work, and we work well within it. You never pay for a stage before it is done.

The package prices are based on a standard Sydney bathroom of roughly five to eight square metres. Smaller rooms cost less because there is less tile and less labour; larger ones cost more for the same reason. Your quote is priced on your actual measurements, taken on site, not on an assumption.

Yes. Smaller wet rooms typically run $12,000 to $18,000 complete because there is no bath and less tiling, but the trades, the waterproofing and the standard are identical. If you are doing the main bathroom and ensuite together, ask for a combined price — the saving is significant.

Yes. Strata work adds acoustic underlay, by-law approval, restricted working hours and access management, which we price as a clearly identified line rather than burying it. We renovate in Sydney strata buildings every week and provide the insurance certificates and method statements your committee will ask for.
